Singer, a former Senior Research Associate at the Yale Child Study Center, specializes in early childhood development, television effects on youth, and parent training. In addition, Dr. Singer also worked as a Senior Research Scientist in the Psychology Department at Yale University. Her interest in early childhood development has led to 19 published books and over 160 articles. Dr. Singer has been involved in a Parent Training Project to teach parents to play with their preschoolers as a means of enhancing cognitive and social skills. In addition, she often consults with parent groups, television industry executives, and government agencies concerning television and education. Dr. Amanda Gummer, PhD Dr. Amanda Gummer, PhD in psychology and Post Graduate in Higher Education, is a leading Child Psychologist, specialising in play and parenting. She’s a member of the British Psychological Society, the International Toy Research Association, Play England and the National Toy Council. With nearly twenty years of experience working with families and children, Amanda has written extensively on child development, play and parenting, and is regularly interviewed by the media on related issues. In addition, Amanda's experience includes teaching children with special needs as well as contributing to government policy on children’s issues and scientific research in Learning and Education.
